Our watchwords at the chapel include ‘community’ and ‘compassion’ so it was wonderful to experience both of these aspects in action on Saturday when we hosted a craft fayre and cafe in aid of local charity, ‘The Forgotten Children of the Land of Lakes and Volcanoes.’
Once again, we were delighted to support the work of Carolyn Gibbs and her friends in their efforts to raise money for the children of Ometape Island, Nicaragua and despite the inclement weather, the day yielded over £600 for the cause – a wonderful and generous effort from all involved.
We were encouraged to receive a visit from local M.P. Jeremy Quinn who was interested to hear about the history of the chapel, its current work in the community and about the charity that we are supporting.
Season’s greetings to all.
